Weathermap 0.9 released

Post by Howie »

Finally, I think this is ready enough for everyone. :-)

You can get the latest Weathermap at http://www.network-weathermap.com/node/73

The full change list is quite big, so it's now a web page. It's in the manual too, but you can see it here:
http://www.network-weathermap.com/docs/0.9/changes

The manual is also online http://www.network-weathermap.com/manual/0.9/ and includes some improved sections and the visual configuration guide I posted about last week.

I'll be adding more articles on the website relating to the new features in the coming weeks, also.

Thank you to everyone who helped with testing pre-release versions in the last few months!
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Found a tiny bug in weathermap.

If I click on weathermap icon on the top it works fine, but if I click on a graph inside weathermap and then I use Graphs -> weathermap -> Fa0:

The web path is missing the plugins in the url path

http://xxxxx/cacti//weathermap/weatherm ... plugin.php
instead of
http://xxxxx/cacti/plugins/weathermap/w ... plugin.php

So it does. Really, it shouldn't have the weathermap bit at all (in my mind anyway - you are back into ordinary cacti at that point)... I'll take a look.

Huh? You DO get up and down.. they are in the same data source. Have you tried it? I don't think I understand

I've tried WeatherMap for he first time today, and it's working really great.
I've created a map of my company's DMZ/WAN stucture using the php editor in a few hours(needs a litte manual editting but it's already looking great).

Thank you Howie for this great piece of software!

Hey Howie, you may already be aware of this, but I thought I would mention it anyway. In the Weathermaps management screen, it look like you added the "Rebuild All Maps Right Now" functionality into version 0.9. The function worked well when I rebuilt my map, but the image for the button itself is missing.

Image

It looks like it is referenced in weathermap-cacti-plugin-mgmt.php and the path is set at weathermap/images/btn_recalc.png, but the image itself doesn't exist. Doesn't affect the functionality, but I thought you might want to know.

So it is... I wonder why no-one else has ever mentioned it :-) I've added the button image to the next release's file-list.

Here it is, if you want to slot it in though. It did exist all along... honest!

Look in the cacti.log - do you get any error?

Can't set user permission

Post by warriorforgod »

When I go to the user management screen to set permissions on the maps, I don't have an option to grant permissions. Any suggestions?
