No rrdtool update being performed

Post by jamesmarmstrong »

Hi

I have just installed the CactiEZ version (0.2b) of cacti having used cacti for a long time on a Windows box. The installation of the server has gione very well and the box was performing brilliantly and so we started migrating our devices across to the new server.

Suddenly the graphs stopped at about 11am on Saturday morning, noone was working and there was no maintenance being carried out on the system. I have been through Gandalf's NaN errors page (excellent by the way!) and tried almost everything I know to see where the problem lies. I cannot find anything other than the 'RRDTool update' section simply does not run... the SQL is updated, I can manually do the Update command and this works, it seems that the poller.php does not have the command.

Can anyone please help??

Thanks

Jim

I have multiple log files but the last one is just 707kb... All the previous are about the same size or smaller.

When you run the poller manually, are you running it as the same user that is running it in the cronjob?

Thanks for your reply... I have just tried to manually run the full poller.php from the command line and it has says the follwoing:

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 40 bytes) in /var/www/html/lib/database.php on line 154
Content-type: text/html
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.3.9

Does that mean anythng to you? Can I increase the memory size available anywhere...

Thanks

Jim

FIX: Noticed this in other posts... This is fixed by increasuing the memory PHP can use in PHP.INI...

Linegod, thank you for your help
