Is this what the aggregate graphs are supposed to look like?

If that's what it's supposed to do, does anyone know how to make cacti do an aggregate that's a total of combined interfaces?
Your assumption is correct. First, aggregate creates a graph showing multiple objects, e.g. interfaces.
If you need a total, you will have to add this as a new graph item to that aggregated graph. See http://docs.cacti.net/node/50 for this

Correct. Personally, I'd like to change
- to AREA/STACK graph
- omit the 95th Percentile. IMHO, that makes not that much sense for an aggregate graph
But that's only me

Thanks for this plug-in, makes my life much easier :)

Few ideas / feature requests...

- Can you add the option to edit the titles during creation? Currently it seems to use ip addresses, which jogs everything over too far. Reason I ask for the option during creation is that once spacing is set for the default ip addresses, if you change it in the resulting template, all the spacing gets messed up.

- Instructions on or a tool to modify the color templates!

- A nice black line for the total sums and a text line for that total amount?

Thanks

Gandalf,

I looked at that doc, and I can't see how you'd summarize the different data sources in the aggregate graph. This is personally something I'd want -- but haven't been able to figure out with their example of "|sum:auto:current:2:auto|" and saying it only works on one rrd file.

Could you point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, STACK is what I was looking for. I've got it to do what I wanted now, shown below:

Mind passing some info along as to how you did that? Interested in adding a total to mine + the upside down graphing would be great.

How do I go about that? Been tinkering for a while trying to figure it out.

Actually trying to figure out how to add a line item to total up in/out between two devices. So:

Gi0/1 In: 1MB Out: 1MB
Gi0/2 In: 1MB Out: 1MB
Total In: 2MB Out: 2MB

Or can I have it just combine the two in the background and just present one in/out?

So it would show:
In: 2MB Out: 2MB

and only show 1 graph.

Thanks!

sure.. let me know what you need.

Feel free to msn me if you want.

I am configuring cacti to replace cricket in a largish ISP environment and I have lots of different machines/services to play with :P

Hi Reinhard,

i have a similar problem to the person above in the quote. i have read the Bandwidth Summation chapter but i don't think its what i am after with these graphs.

what i am after is to total the current BW at any one point in time from a few different links we graph.

For Example:
Router 1 Link 1: 10.1 Mbps
Router 2 Link 2: 3.35 Mbps
Router 3 Link 1: 33.01 Mbps
Router 4 Link 4: 1.01 Mbps
Total: 47.47Mbps (this is the value I would like to graph)

So i have currently 4 different routers getting graphed and they are producing graphs correctly.

so what i would like to do is total the current bandwidth at any one time for the 4 links and produce one graph with the total of the link speeds at that point in time. (as indicated a few lines up).

i am pretty sure that this is possible, so i was wondering if someone could explain the steps for me please.

i am currently using this: (traffic_in): Total In: |sum:auto:current:2:auto|
but what that is doing is suming up all the total data transfered, which is not the one i am after, i would like the total bandwidth at that point in time.

would anyone be able to point me in the right direction please?

thanks,
