Most likely a permission issue. Read my faq http://bsod2600.home.comcast.net/instal ... s.html#FAQ

You need to enable socket support in PHP to resolve the socket error in the log file. Also, does the account your poller runs under have access to WMI on the remote host ?

If you are using Apache on Windows, then the service accounts may need to modified to use an account that has access to WMI. As BSOD2600 suggests above your post, this is more likely a permissions issue.

Running on Linux

Post by pheezy »

I've gotten this to run on Linux.

I've attached the XML and the script you'll need to run this.

You will need the check_nt binary and NC_Net running on the windows machine. The latest one is available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/nc-net, the one from the shatterit site will probably not work.

Is there a possibility to use this script for getting other values from WMI?

For example my UPS can work with WMI. So I can monitor it from Windows Performance Monitor. I would like to graph this values in Cacti. Unfortunately I am not good in Perl and Cacti templates. :(

Can anyone help me with template for Cacti?
