CACTID: Poller[0] Host[148] ERROR: The POPEN timed out

Post by jolramospr »

Cacti is generating the following error message:

CACTID: Poller[0] Host[148] ERROR: The POPEN timed out.

This is causing all my Smoke ping and Advanced Ping graphs to stop graphing data collected.

Run cactid from the command line in DEBUG on time for the host in question:

./cactid host_id host_id

Where you obtain host_id by editing the host and looking in the address bar of your browser for host_id=???

Two things, first do the following:

"which perl" and verify you have the correct path.

edit the perl script and look for the line starting wiht "#!/bin/perl" make sure it matches with the real path.

You may have to change your Data Input Method to reflect the correct path and then Repopulate your Poller Cache.

Looks like your cactid.conf file is not accurate.

Where is the file located? Place it in the binary location and not in /etc. I think I discovered an issue with it being in /etc. Some contributed code or some change I made. Sorry.

my cactid binary and cactid.conf are in /usr/local/cactid/
Something has changed and I cant figure it out. All my graphs jsut started gapping...only the one's called by perl scripts maily...snmp stuff is fine. Been upgrading pieces one by one to try and figure it out. I can't seem to get cactid upgraded though. I am on version e now. everytime i try and compile version i it seems to be a much smaller file than the one i have now the cactid binary i mean. Does that seem right?

Thanks
