Lost 95th percentile graphs when updating to cacti-0.8.6j.3

Post by chrisarn »

Hi,

a while ago i lost my 95th percentile graphs when updating to cacti-0.8.6j.3 on FreeBSD.
(I posted to the mailling list, but didn't get much attention. Trying here instead)

I noticed this in the cacti log file:
02/11/2007 08:00:01 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[2] DS[113] WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result:
02/11/2007 08:00:01 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[2] DS[113] SNMP: v1: bla.infotropic.com, dsname: traffic_in, oid: .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6.73, output: U

So the natural thing to belive is that net-snmp got updated at the same time and that something is strange there. So started digging around net-snmp.

But, then i realised that this effected both my freebsd host and an HP switch, and i havn't upgraded any firmware on the switch...

Could it be that cacti have started to poll another oid in this version of cacti and thats my issue?

Also all my other graphs not doing 95th percentile works against the switch.

So have anyone else run into this issue?
Any hints or clues on how to get the 95th percentile graphs back again are appreciated.

/Chris

PS: Yes i have since tried to find a solution in the forums, but i dont seem to find my issue here. And yes i have the 95th percentile thumbnail graphs patch installed.

Please run an "snmpwalk -c ... -v 1 <target> .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6.73" against your target. Any errors?

Sorry for the late response, been a little bit tied up.

I get an timeout trying to access that oid, as seen in my original post. The thing i had no complaints before upgrading cacti and i have the same firmware on the switch. Something seem to have changed in cacti regarding 95'th percentile graphs, but what? And how do i fix this?

Am i really the only one with this issue?

Does anyone have any clues on where to start debugging this?

Can you please post a screen shot of the graph items for the broken graph?
