Hi........All,
What a fantastic plugin it is Weathermap. Thanks to Mr.Hoowie and his efforts.
Thanks to all here who are dedicated themselves and become inpiration to new comer like me.
I am new user ,but trying hard to work and learn on cacti.
I have installed Weathermap and found tab in my cacti screen ok.
But I am confused about how to install Editor and use it in Web based management.
I am not little comfort to 2nd option of configuration as i am new to this.
Could anybody tell me how do i enable browser based editor and how to add my network tools??
will Weathermap shows UP/Down status of individual interface or only host status?? Actually i could see only my device status using Monitor plugin. but can i make it monitor individual link interface on that device to show Up/Down status of each interface??
Thanks all

Yes, you can configure Cacti to show up/down information, as was just recently discussed in a couple threads down from this one.

Re: but I am sorry it displays nothing
no, unless that's not the actual path to weathermap. You do know where you installed Cacti, right?smartech1 wrote:Thanks friend,

Have a look at my editor-config.php please.
Hi ,
No my friend,
Actually today i configured as per the guidelines in Weathermap online documentation .
I did : cp editor-config.php-dist editor-config.php
and then changed the configuration in editor-config.php.
Please have a look at my editor-config.php .
<?php
// CHANGE: Uncomment one of the lines below and change it to point to the base directory
// of your cacti install to enable cacti support in the editor
// $cacti_base = 'C:/XAMPP/xampp/htdocs/cacti';
$cacti_base = "/usr/local/cacti-0.8.6i/";
if(is_dir($cacti_base))
{
// include the cacti-config, so we know about the database
include_once($cacti_base."/include/config.php");
//
CHANGE: this to be the URL of the base of your Cacti install
// it MUST end with a / character!
$config['base_url']='http://myservername/';
}
// where to look for config files. The directory must be readable
// AND writable by whatever user your webserver runs as.
// this name is correct if you are using the Cacti plugin
//
// NOTE: You MIGHT need to use the full path to the configs folder here,
// (it seems to depend on the PHP or OS version)
$mapdir= $cacti_base.'/plugins/weathermap/configs/'; $mapdir='configs';
?>
My cacti is stored in /usr/local/cacti-0.8.6i/ and in ' http://myservername/' actually i do type my webserver name itself, i didn't mentioned original as of security issue. thats all.
i have created a user called cactiuser for my cacti. For same i used follwoing commands.
chown cactiuser configs
chmod 777 configs
But when i browse http://myservername/plugins/weathermap/editor.php it says done, but displays nothing.
Please suggest.
Thanks a lot for your patience.
