I forgot somethings:

In adiction to the weathermap percentages, we also wanted to know precisely when a link goes down. This was done by an SNMP TRAP sent by the router.

The router sends a trap when an interface goes up or down to the NMS, the snmptrapd deamon handles the trap and send the result to Nagios with host name (according to the interface index, each link is a host for me... this could be a service too). Nagios imediatally change the host state to down, and write down this value on the Database.

We have made an php that reads the database, and if the host is down a function fiills the accordling region with red, pointing me the problem.
