Creating a graph from a rrd that is updated outside of cacti

Hi all:

I have an rrd file that is updated by some other third party software.

I then want to create graph for this rrd file under cacti.

What is the best way for me to do this? Do I need to create a datasource? Is there a way to auto-create the database based on the ds definitions in the rrd file?

Hi

yes, you need to create a datasource. The best way is to set it "inactive", so Cacti won't try to update it.

When the datasource is created, you'll then be able to graph it.
