PHP 5.2.1 and 0.8.6j - Poller CMD.php exit with error

Post by Jesper »

Greetings all,

Just tried to upgrade PHP from 5.2.0 to PHP 5.2.1 on Windows/IIS6. It turned out that the poller didn't like it and returned errors:

"02/09/2007 11:44:05 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: The PHP Script: CMD.PHP Must be started using the full path to the file and in lower case. This is a PHP Bug!!!"

Looks like another check/tweak is required.. :'(

Thanks,
Jesper

Got exact the same problem over here...
But I believe I had the same problem with upgrading from PHP 5.1.6. to PHP 5.2.0.
So I think I'll stick at my current 5.1.6. version.

This is what my logfile says:
The PHP Script: CMD.PHP Must be started using the full path to the file and in lower case. This is a PHP Bug!!!

I hope they'll (PHP developers) fix it soon...

Is that the problem? Or the solution? Because I'm running 0.8.6j.

The Witness,

I wrote in the subject that I was using 0.8.6j.... CMD.PHP doesn't work with PHP 5.2.1.

At 5.2.0 I've got the same problem. Currently I'm stuck at 5.1.6, which is working fine for me. Without errors by the way...

Really. I'm using 5.2.0 and cacti 0.8.6j with no problems. How did you upgrade to cacti 0.8.6j?

Sure you're running cacti 0.8.6j? Click on the cacti icon once logged on as admin and look what version it says.

From the command prompt type: php -v. What version of php are you running?

I've just re-upgraded to PHP 5.2.0. I don't know what I did last time, but now it seems to work without any problems. I'm running cacti 0.8.6j.

Downloaded PHP 5.2.0 (Windows edition).
Manually synchronised my 5.1.6 php.ini with 5.2.0. php.ini and waited for my last stats run to finish.
When it was done (takes +/- 15 seconds, each 5 minutes) I've shutdown IIS6, and started on moving my php folders; php to php516 and the new php520 dir to php. I ran a stats run and it seemed to work (no errors occured).

So I started IIS, logged into cacti and looked at the graphs and the logs. Nothing to notice, except that it seemed to work.

I'll keep monitoring cacti for the next 15 minutes or so, but it seems to work. I realy don't know what I've done wrong last time...

I'm sorry for the inconvenience...

[Edit:]
15 minutes later, it still works (no holes in my graphs) :) I'm confused... Sorry guys...
