Riverbed Steelhead Appliance - statistics

Post by airwalk »

This set of templates could be used to monitor the following devices:

Riverbed Steelhead Appliance
- 510
- 1010
- 2010
- 3010
- 5010

HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator
- DL320-1010 WAN Accelerator
- DL320-2010 WAN Accelerator
- DL320-510 WAN Accelerator
- DL380-3010 WAN Accelerator
- DL380-5010 WAN Accelerator

-----------------------------------------------------------

Known issues:

- CPU load OID is updated once per 1 minute while polling is performed once per 5 minutes.
- hitRate and missRate look reversed in MIB. dimension is unclear.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Suggestions and modifications are strongly welcomed!

For those interested I also attach Riverbed MIB file.

Just as any other graph templates. No other files required.

All my graphs work fine, except for the DataStore and Passthrough... They seem to not get data (Current: -1.#J)

I did not change anything in the template like OIDs... using it exactly as posted.

We have the Riverbed Steelhead 5010 devices with firmware 4.04:
rbt_sh 4.0.4a #76_2 2007-10-10 18:40:27 i386

Any ideas? (2nd attachment posted just to show we have data for other OIDs)

Nevermind....
I noticed my Devices were set up with SNMP v1.
I changed this to v2 and all is working fine now.

Thanks anyways! Great Template!

Aggregate Bandwidth - template

Post by nebj00la »

I've attached a template for Aggregate Bandwidth on Riverbed Steelheads, tested with Steelhead 1520's and 3520's.

Thanks,

Do you know of a way to chart the amount of optimized WAN output?

How about looking at the throughput / utilisation stats on the interface (ifIndex). Maybe map LAN against WAN interface to see data coming in as compare to data going out!?
Just a suggestion!

I don't know why, but when I imported the templates the data sources for "missTotal" were set to type GAUGE when they should be COUNTER.

FYI, YMMV, etc...

I successfully implemented the CPU load and the connection graphs but I have an issue on the interface polling. It works and I can have graphs on the interfaces of my riverbed but from time to time, Cacti is not able to do it and I have the following warning logs:
07/06/2009 03:12:29 PM - SPINE: Poller[0] Host[35] DS[522] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [500 ms], ignoring host

07/06/2009 03:12:27 PM - SPINE: Poller[0] Host[35] DS[521] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [500 ms], ignoring host
I have a riverbed 5050 with 5.5.1b version and my cacti runs with 0.8.7b and 0.8.7c (we have two differents servers - one for dev, one for prod). The poller used in Cacti is "spine" configured to do a polling every 1 minutes.

Someone got this issue before?
