Increased memory used in 0.8.6j?

Post by tl1997 »

I recently upgraded from 0.8.6i to 0.8.6j with the plugin architecture. No updates were made to php (5.2.0), the config, or anything else on the system (FreeBSD 6.1) besides installing the new cacti version.

I used to run php with a memory_limit of 16 megs. After the upgrade to 0.8.6j, poller.php would fail because of lack of memory. I tried increasing it to 32 megs, it got farther but still didn't finish. After changing it to 64 megs, everything is fine.

I guess its not really a problem since I have sufficient resources on the system and don't really use it for anything else, but I didn't expect that big of a jump between versions.

Has anyone else had this experience?

I suspect that it has to do with PHP. Guessing of course...

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
