High CPU utilization

Post by hugsandy »

hi all
:o
my cacti server is running 90% CPU on an average most of it being utilized by
Php.exe 30to40%
and rrdtool.exe 30to 40 %, due to this high utilization server is really slow and it takes life time to display graphs. its a wins 2003 server SP1

what all things can i check to control this cpu utilization

Thanks

Well what's php running all the time?
How fast/slow is your cpu?
What versions of everything are you running?
Any other websites on the server?

You could possibly try installing the plugin architecture along with Boost, which enables one to cache images (to reduce cpu load).

Thnaks for the reply :D

okey got it over with there was all the debugging enabled i guess its enabled by default have just kept now essential errors thing only and it look to be fine
also graph export was enabled and may that was slowing down the display of graphs further

i installed the hostinfo plugin but i dont see the "Host Info" link in under Utilities on the left hand side menu

what could be wrong with that

Thnaks Sandy
