In a previous post (http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?p ... ght=#34662), I said that the classical graphs for load average and memory are very bad. I believe that I have not done the post in the good forum, and that I have not well explain what I tthought. so let's go again.
The memory graph template given with cacti is very diificult to read. The problem come that you don't see the part of the memory that is used by applications. I am using cacti since three years, and I should say that good graphs of the memory usage are usefull in order to detect application problems. The classical template is poor for this use.
The load average graph template is also not very good , since the graph is the sum of the 1 min load average with 5 min load average and 15 min load average. It is pretty, because of the red, orange and yellow let believe that your computer is in fire. The following one is not pretty, but it give real results.
