cacti problem with poller.php

Post by chairman »

Hi

I have some problems with poller.php. The problem is that nothing happens. I have tried to insert some echo "test; in the poller script. just for chechking what is going on. And it seems that it stops working after the first include statement!

The website works great. but poller.php doesn't.

Any ideas?

Hi There

Got the same problem on my debian (sarge) and ubuntu (6.10)box, both with 2.6 kernels.

I work with PHP 4.3.10-18 (cli) and cacti 0.8.6i. Running poller.php shows no output at all.
Tried to work with cactid. He gets data and puts it into poller_output, but he doesn't create any rra files.

I've already increased the log level, but there was no error at all.

Installing all patches doesn't solve the problem.

**UPDATE**
On my debian box, I've got an older rrdtool (RRDtool 1.0.49). Is this a problem?

Ok, I found the problem.

In mit php.ini for cli was mysql.so disabled.
Unfortunately poller.php does not show an error in this case unlike in cacti 0.8.6h

Error message in 0.8.6h was:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_pconnect() in /var/www/cacti/lib/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 356

Solved the problem by downgrading to 0.8.6h after reading several threads conatining reports of troubles. Now I upgraded again to 0.8.6h after enabling mysql in my php.ini and everything works fine.

Interesting, no error messages in poller.php's STDOUT or STDERR?

Nothing in version 0.8.6i.
The previus one told me the correct error message.

Do you need more system information? I think it's a bug...

We changed logging a little bit. Can you log a bug at http://bugs.cacti.net?

Thanks,
