Graph the count of a particular process?

Hello all,
Is it possible to gather and graph the number of instances of a perticular process?

Any advice and/or guidance would be appreciated.

Yes, there is a template that comes with cacti that will monitor the process count on a box. If you want to monitor a single process, then look at http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=6661

What I am actually trying to do is to give a template the process name (java.exe for example) and have the template track how many instances of java.exe exist on the server.

I hope that makes sense.

I don't recall seeing anything like that, but you could easily write a script that does that. Read http://docs.cacti.net/node/73 on how to do this.
