Which cacti version do you use? Is "Downed Host Detection" set to SNMP only?

I am using Cacti Ver. 0.8.6i . How do I know 'Downed Host Detection' set to SNMP only?

Some devices showing down but its still able to get snmp info and ave, min, max data.

I have set it to both SNMP -reliable and SNMP and Ping, both will still show device in RED. I have set Ping type to UDP Ping as cacti is running apache. Please advise. Thank you.

Please run the poller in DEBUG mode (see: Settings) for ONE polling cycle. Examine your cacti.log. You'll find the results of "downed device detection" in the log. Please post that snippet if it does not make sense to you
