Ok, I'm using:

<path_cacti>/poller.php
<path_cacti>/lib/poller.php

from 8.6h. Everything else is 8.6i, including cactid. So far it doesn't look like it solved the problem, but I'll let it run overnight just to make sure.

What's weird is that log, you see stuff like this:

Code: Select all

11/30/2006 10:32:04 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/local/bin/rrdtool create *****cacti/rra/****_net_cisco_free_mem_9549.rrd --step 300 DS:cisco_free_mem:GAUGE:600:0:4600000000 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:600 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:2:600 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:6:700 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:12:700 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:24:775 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:48:775 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:288:797 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:576:797 RRA:MIN:0.5:1:600 RRA:MIN:0.5:2:600 RRA:MIN:0.5:6:700 RRA:MIN:0.5:12:700 RRA:MIN:0.5:24:775 RRA:MIN:0.5:48:775 RRA:MIN:0.5:288:797 RRA:MIN:0.5:576:797 RRA:MAX:0.5:1:600 RRA:MAX:0.5:2:600 RRA:MAX:0.5:6:700RRA:MAX:0.5:12:700 RRA:MAX:0.5:24:775 RRA:MAX:0.5:48:775 RRA:MAX:0.5:288:797 RRA:MAX:0.5:576:797 RRA:LAST:0.5:1:600 RRA:LAST:0.5:2:600 RRA:LAST:0.5:6:700 RRA:LAST:0.5:12:700 RRA:LAST:0.5:24:775 RRA:LAST:0.5:48:775 RRA:LAST:0.5:288:797 RRA:LAST:0.5:576:797
11/30/2006 10:32:04 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/local/bin/rrdtool update *****cacti/rra/****_net_cisco_free_mem_9549.rrd --template cisco_free_mem N:U
But it doesn't actually create the file. Why would that be?

Nope. It still doesn't work. Some graphs look fine but others are still graphing intermittently. In another thread, someone suggested reverting back to 8.6h, which I'll try next unless I hear a better ideas from you guys.

If this turns out to be a bug, what do I have to do to file a bug report?

Hello,
I have the same problem as NS with only 683 data sources.
I tried to use the two poller (poller.php and /lib/poller.php) from the version 8.6.h but it doesn't resolve my problem too.

Information:
--------------
cacti/cactid 0.8.6i
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
PHP 5.1.16
php.ini:
memory_limit = 64M

similar/same problem in version 0.8.6h

This problem is not limited to version 0.8.6i.

I have the same issue in version 0.8.6h.

check again for multiple cron jobs

Post by blueskies »

I fixed my issues with gaps in the graphs when I found two cron jobs for the poller (/etc/crontab and /etc/cron.d/cacti).

My moment of euphoria is over now and I'm on to fixing other issues :-)

This is a well known issue especially with rpm installations, see my signature's link on "NaN Debugging" ...
Fine, that you resolved it

Gandalf,

That's exactly how I found it - by re-reading your notes on NaN troubleshouting. I didn't have quite that issue but the steps you provided in that note covered it. Thanks again.
