Thank you! My fault... I need RTFM :)

One more question: is it possible to add to cacti event log functionality?
I mean, to see, at what time host goes down, when up and so on...

You should see that in the cacti log file.

Graphing has stopped

Post by Brim »

I've got the images to show up now, my OS was 2k3 Ent SR2. I backed it off to 2k3 Ent SP1 and all worked.

Suddenly, however, the system has stopped graphing, on Nov 7th. Any thoughts?

As usual, change the logging level to debug and take a look.

I tried that, the page froze and never showed me the log. I'll gather some event log info for you shortly.

Once you set the logging level to debug, you can manually look at the file at /cacti/log/cacti.log

I have a Cactid update (post 0.8.6i) that applies only to Windows users, sadly...

Its been a while since I installed using the windows installer, now that there is this update to 8.6i I am curious what the update process is for those that have already installed things using the windows installer?

Just wondering if updates are a manual thing or if the installer is able to detect a previous installation and perform an update?

This ? may be covered in some documentation, and I will see if I can't read later and figure this out myself. Thought I would ask however to possibly save myself some time. :-)

Do NOT use the installer to update your installation! The installer in ONLY meant to kick-start people with getting cacti configured and running.

Follow the cacti upgrade guide on the correct method for updating.

Hello,
Just commpleted a Windows installation.
Windows 2003 SP1, IIS6 & Cacti v1.4

All seem to be ok apart from Graphs. (no pictures)
I have gone into Graph Mgt and selected a graph but it then just hangs on running http://localhost/cacti/graphs.php?actio ... =10&deug=1

Any ideas please?

Cheers

Update....
Stopped the command and it returned the rrdtool command

it is showing c:\rrdtool\rrdtool.exe -graph etc etc but I have got rrdtool installed in to the d:\rrdtool directory.
Where is the setting for this rrdtool location?

You could've fixed the problem too by simply editing the paths in your Cacti settings -- still can.

The fact that the path was still broken in cacti means the mysql update script didn't properly run. Guess I'll need to look into that for the next update.
