Polling Cacti Itself!

Post by Smistir »

Has anyone seen a way of polling cacti to report who is logged into Cacti. The customer would like to generate trends for how many people are using this service.

Um.....

You can technically do this with a script.

You would have to write a script to inspect the user_log table and report back the number of users that have logged in. You can either report back the number since last check (gauge) or the total number (counter) from the script. Going the total number is easier to write.

Thanks for the response.. I was hoping to not have to write a script (laziness).. but you answered any question I would have had for writing the script..

I'll go ahead and do that. If anyone wants the script after I have finished it just let me know and I will post it ..
