I see some holes in my graphs!!

Post by fantasticamir »

Dear guys,

I run a cacti with 1000 graphs for almost 100 devices to monitor how they are working... I do not know why it does not working for a short interval of time for example 15 mins and then go on working... so I see some holes in all of my graphs... I really do not know why...I have run cacti on RedHat Linux 7.3 server.
check this link out to figure out my problem!!

holes in graphs

Post by egarnel »

What else is the server doing at those times? cron jobs, etc....
Are you running the php cmd with nice?
Are you running any custom scripts under cacti? I had an issue with a custom script that "ran away" and caused breaks in some of my graphs.

Are you also monitoring the server by other means? such as big brother that support threshold checking and alerting; you could pinpoint the problem easier.

Dear sir,

There is no script in my crontab except that one related to cacti... and if so the holes should be sequential but as you know it is working for a week and then does not work for a short while.

I do not know what is effect if I run php with nice, could you let me know about it...

No custom script is also running under cacti...
what do you mean by thereshold checking and I do not know how big brothers can help me... I mean which frature of big brother can help me in this case!!

Thanks for your attention

Amir.
