This would be the result, if either httpd.conf is _not_ configured for server-status or the result of http://your-server/server-status?auto is not as expected.
Please check the first case (description is in the docs for this Template) and post the result of the second

Hey Ppl!

I have several servers with URLs
server01.domain.com to server67.domain.com

Al server-status pages are behind the domainnames serverxx.domain.com

Is it possible to edit something so it doenst poll on IP address but on servername (URL)?

Code: Select all

[root@server07 scripts]# ./ws_apachestats.pl server01.xxxx.nl
apache_total_hits:120560748 apache_total_kbytes:233220410 apache_busy_workers:282 apache_idle_workers:88 thread_O:30 threadC:16 threadD:0 threadG:0 threadI:0 threadK:249 threadL:0 threadR:1 threadS:0 threadW:16 thread_W:88 apache_cpuload:.306352[root@server07 scripts]#
But cacti polls
./ws_apachestats.pl xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (ip address).

|host_description| would be great :)

I tried changing that but I see:

10/11/2006 09:27:08 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[9] DS[247] CMD: perl /var/www/vhosts/xxxx.com/httpdocs/status/scripts/ws_apachestats.pl |host_description|, output: U

I'm quite sure it doesn't. As I created some extension to this on my own, I'm sure you'll find a wget in the code. And ist takes |host_hostname| from the device you've applied the template to. So if you put the dns name in, wget will use dns resolution, which should be ok. Or are you talking about vhosts?

I have imported the XML without errors, but when I try to create a graph I get the following errors - Any idea why?

I'd appreciate some help here, running Cacti 0.8.6h on Debian Sarge 3.1 (stable). I've imported various other templates but this one gives me the following message when trying to import;

Code: Select all

Notice: Undefined index: import_file in /var/www/cacti/templates_import.php on line 56

Notice: Undefined index: import_file in /var/www/cacti/templates_import.php on line 56

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/cacti/templates_import.php:56) in /var/www/cacti/templates_import.php on line 62
I've tried importing using the file as well as importing by pasting in the text, neither works.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

i'm running RRDTool 1.0.x
is there any way to get this to work with RRDTool 1.0.x?

Yep. Omit the line that refers to the "TREND" CDEF from the Graph Template

What can I do if my apache servers run on ports different than the standard one and I can't change them ? If I put the port number after the hostname in device details, cacti doesn't see the box as being up no more but if not, apache graphs don't get any data cause I presume they're getting the hostname from cacti.

Also btw. when I try to add the "Hits / s" graph in "Graph Management" it says :

RRDTool Command:

/usr/bin/rrdtool graph - \
--imgformat=PNG \
--start=-86400 \
--end=-300 \
--title="web6-apache - Apache Statistics - Hits / s" \
--base=1000 \
--height=120 \
--width=500 \
--alt-autoscale-max \
--lower-limit=0 \
--vertical-label="Hits/sec" \
--slope-mode \
AREA:#AAABA1:"Hits/sec" \
GPRINT::LAST:"Current\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT::AVERAGE:"Average\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT::MAX:"Maximum\:%8.2lf %s\n" \
COMMENT:" Represents the number of hits per second\n" \
COMMENT:" ApacheStats v0.4 - Rolf Poser\n"

RRDTool Says:

ERROR: Not a valid vname: #AAABA1 in line AREA:#AAABA1:Hits/sec

I'm wondering what could cause that error...
Do you have any ideea ?

Hi again ! I have a problem with "Thread Details" plugin. All the other graphs are working fine but this doesn't seem to setup properly. When I imported the xml, there was no error and when I add the graph from "Graph management" on any host that I tried it lets me change only colours for graphs but no data sources(check attached image)

Do you have an ideea over what is wrong ? I'm running cacti-0.8.6i with a 5 minute polling interval.
