I apologize if this has been asked in the past, but I can't find mention of it in the forum on the FAQ....
I'm fairly new to cacti and would like to graph four snmp results on one graph. These four results would all come from the same host, and would be snmp-polled, though I could easily write a script to return all four values if needed.
I have spent many an hour trying to figure this out, but...I'm coming up empty.
Thanks for the help!
Andy

Display # statistics in 1 Graph
Hi,
This is one of the possibilities that I use. For each SNMP OID that I need to monitor I create a Data Template.
If I want to show all these Data templates in One graph I create a Graph template that includes each of the Data Templates previously created.
Example this Graph template includes both the number of Threads and number of Processes on a Win2K system
Graph Template Items (you have to click on the "Add" button on the right)
Graph Item Data Source Graph Item Type CF Type ItemColor
Item # 1 (MS_Threads): Threads: LINE2 AVERAGE 002A8F
Item # 2 (MS_Threads): Current: GPRINT LAST
Item # 3 (MS_Threads): Average: GPRINT AVERAGE
Item # 4 (MS_Threads): Max:
GPRINT MAX
Item # 5 (MS_Processes): Processes: AREA AVERAGE AFECED
Item # 6 (MS_Processes): Current: GPRINT LAST
Item # 7 (MS_Processes): Average:GPRINT AVERAGE
Item # 8 (MS_Processes): Max:
GPRINT MAX
Graph Item Inputs
Name (you have to click on the "Add" button on the right)
Processes (in this option you activate "Data Source" and flag the items that you want to use to display your graph)
Threads (in this option you activate "Data Source" and flag the items that you want to use to display your graph)
Fill in a Graph Template name and vertical label and save you graph template. This template will now use and display the data sources to which it will be linked.
REMARK if the OID's are indexed I use the Data Query functionality.
A view into the localhost example and existing cacti templates can help you a lot, it helped me when starting with cacti.
Hope this helps,
