Anything that you think should be in Cacti.

Additional information in the devices list?

Post by chadd »

I would like to see a few more tables added to the database and a few extra gets added to the polling cycle to get the information shown in a ifdesc. This is the info I am referring to (there is of course a little more info, but I removed that which would be incriminating):

Table examples:
<vendor>
<model>
<software>

SNMP Information
System: Cisco IOS Software, C3750 Software (C3750-IPBASEK9-M), Version 12.2(25)SED1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) Copyright (c) 1986-2005 by Cisco Systems, Inc. Compiled Tue 22-Nov-05 23:36 by yenanh
Uptime: 548969726 (63 days, 12 hours, 54 minutes)

And if that information could be filtered upon under devices. I am sure it is not difficult, but what are peoples thoughts?

I figure, it would be a nice way to get a basic count of the number of a certain types of devices, certain software releases, etc.. I know this functionality is available in cisco works, and other vendors nms software, but it seems like it would be useful to have it available in cacti (and don't think it would hamper performance much).
