emails to verizon wireless not working

I'm trying to figure out why when I send a message from thold to my phone using phonenumber@vtext.com I get the following error.

Error transferring to smtpsp1.VTEXT.COM; SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error 550 SMTP connection refused

But when I send to a nextel phone or normal email address it works fine.
The thing that is confusing me is when the mail is returned I can go ahead and forward it using the same mail relay that cacti is using and I get the message just fine.

has anyone else experienced this?

ok, so I read the FAQ and found that Crosscut had the same problem. The fix is to hack the thold-functions.php to remove the attachment.
