Get data from snmp on different Port [solved]

Post by Crescens »

Hey all,

we have a nice cacti installation up an running. Everything runs fine so far.
Except one linux host. This host is in another datacenter. The routers block udp Port 161 and I cant use the usual port.

On the client I switched to Port 80. smnpwalk runs fine.
I could add the device as usual, defined the Port 80 and cacti displayed me all the network interfaces.
But it keeps saying that the state of this server is down. We use SNMP - Reliable for downed host detection. If I switch to 'Ping and SNMP' this host works but a lot of the other dont, so this is not an option.
If i click on the host it displays the SNMP information ( System:, Uptime and so on) but it doesnt collect any data.

I cant put the debug mode on becouse it takes too long to gather all the data and several images will break.
Logging is set to low.
The .rrd file does not exist.

We are using Cacti 0.8.6h on debian 3.1 ( I checked the changelog for .i but thee isnt a solution)

Is it possible that cacti doesnt poll this host becouse he thinks that it is offline?
If yes, it is possible to skip this test?

Is anybody else running a snmpd daemon on a non-standart port and has no troubles?

Or is there a bug getting data from a non-standard port?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

which poller are you using ? cmd.php or cactid ?

If cactid, you have to use the 0.8.6i version (to work on non standard SNMP ports).

There is a bug in this forum if you write a new Thread where you use the word 'isn`t' in the body. (Backtick works but not a normal tick. (from the lower left to the upper right))
I received a SQL Error

We are using cactid (didn`t check that changelog).
Ok I have to update.

If I remeber correctly I can update only cactid?! Or is it better to update both?

<Update>

I updated cactid id and it woks now.
(btw. never forget that make install overwrites everything...my poor cactid.conf. Thanks mysqlf for the 10 min Gap  )
