[INFO] How to customize the Browser title of Cacti

Post by egarnel »

I run multiple Cacti servers and view the pages under seperate tabs within Firefox and was tired of trying to remember what tab is what Cacti server

Under <cacti dir>/include

change line 95 in top_graph_header.php from <title>cacti</title>

to <title>servername cacti</cacti>

do the same for line 31 in top_header.php

Heh, I actually have done this for my 3 servers. Since we have the monitor plugin running, and a browser opened to each one, its much easier to track which server you are looking at this way.

Hostname in title?

Would it be possible to add |host_description| to the title?

The line is actually hard coded with the html syntax, but I'm sure the Cacti Wizards can make it possible.

egarnel,

Can you be very specific and add a feature request to Mantis?

Personally, I'm changing my titles as advised above. On my laptop, I have currentyl 4 different versions running. So I would prefer a configurable string as a title option. Perhaps it would be nice to have the hosts hostname as a variable, but there should be a configurable string as well

I have added a hook to the PA SVN that allows a plugin to change the title. Now you can do it was you wish, and even have a plugin do it dynamically based on host, etc...
