Firefox + Ubuntu = No Monitor Plugin Audio

Post by joshm »

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I couldn't turn anything up in my search attempts....

Does anyone have a 'plugin' they reccommend using with Firefox that works with the Monitor plugin? I can't get the audio to play back in the monitor plugin but am new to Ubuntu and probably am just not looking in the right area... I need to add support to playback the embedded audio.

Any suggestions?

I believe I was required to install Quicktime to play embedded files.

It actually prompted me to download it and install (Using Mandriva)

Yeah I get a prompt but it sais no plugins or whatever can be found..... I have tried installing mplayer but still getting the unsupported message when viewing the monitor plugin.....

This is my first time playing around with Ubuntu and before that it was probably 5+ years ago that I played with any Nix flavors so its probably just my lack of Nix knowledge that has me so confused...

Sweet, finally got it to work. Had to find the specific command to get mplayer mozilla plugin version to install. Now all is well. Now I can have an Ubuntu box for random office troubleshooting and have the monitor tab always up near me.

I'm having the same problem, there is a "mute" button on the monitor plugin screen but can't get the audio to play back. I'm using WinXP and IE 7. My cacti server using CactiEZ v0.1.

Any help would be great.

I am currently unable to test it on IE7, having no Windows boxes handy (Or even know anyone running IE7 yet). I will see if I can find a location to test at.

It works on IE7, but IE7's Phishing filter is a personal security problem with me. Microsoft IE7 is a Virus and should net be installed!!!
