Problem with graph generating

Post by trattos »

Hi everybody.
I'm noivice with Cacti, after installation I went to the graph view page to see my graphs but there aren't pics, only pics description.
See the capture: Image

I use Debian with Apache 2, PHP4 with MySQL, RRDTool, SNMPD, and GD extension is enable in php.ini

Who is missing in my configuration? Sorry but I didn't found a solution.

Thanks.

Hi

have you run the poller at least once ?

Can you try this :

Code: Select all

$ php /path/to/cacti/poller.php
[size=84]

Hi and thanks for your answer.
I did this
5/* * * * * www-data php4 /var/www/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1
But with your help now that's ok THANKS I will continue to explore Cacti because I'm not experimented with it.

AFAIK, there's a special distro which puts www-data as the polling user into crontab. Following installation instruction from main cacti site, the user in the examples is "cactiuser". While you may choose a name of your own, you have to make sure, everything is applied correctly (permissions of ./rra and ./log dirs, permission to mysql tables and perhaps more ...)

Hello everyone.

Running Apache 2, MySQL 4.1.20, PHP 4.3.9, RRDTool 1.2.14, lastest cacti version on CentOS 4.2.

I seem to have the same problem with the graphs, they look exactly like the orginal posts.
I ran the php /<web home>poller.php and get a responce. I looked at the graph debug and noticed that i had this: sh: /usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.14/bin/rrdtool: Permission denied

So, I thought to myself, ok somewhere permissions that are wrong. So just to be safe, i gave 777 to the rra/ and log/ directoies, and to the rrdtool directory. But i still get this permission error.

Also, I installed everything under root, and root is the one that I want to run this. Which make it even more confusing.

Any Ideas would me muchly appericated. Thanks for your time.
