Exchange 2003 RPC Information

Post by DevilSun »

This is another two parter...this first one is server reported RPC info.

It shows Peak RPC requests (since last reboot), RPC requests, and averaged RPC latency (thanks go out to someone who originally pointed me toward this graph but I forget who right now).

Usage:

Code: Select all

perl <path_cacti>/scripts/w32_exch_query_rpc.pl <hostname>
Tested on Exchange 2003 running on Windows 2003...

DTs are in the XML files..

Would this work from a Linux based Cacti? What Perl modules would be needed?

I just adjusted all of this stuff to work with checknt, if anyone is interested. This is my first time posting any of this stuff, so please let me know if something is amiss.

Thanks

Hi, is it possible to use this to feed info to a linux cacti server? Mind you, I'm new to this and rather clueless
If there are resources on how to do this, please point me in the right direction. How do I authenticate to windows using this query?? The txt says that the user running this query should have rights on the win box
This question goes for all windows based queries as my cacti box is linux based

Tnx

padonker,

Sorry - only just saw your post (quite old now)..

I guess maybe you've figured it out, but theres a windows part to nsclient, and a linux part. The perl script calls the linux client, which in turn polls the windows server, which in turn polls WMI, and returns the result.
