Scripts for SHORETEL voip

Post by pooch »

Hello all....

I was wondering if anyone has worked on or has implemented scripts and templates for SHORTEL voip systems. Specifically, the sg120, sg60, and T1 boxes. I have a call into the vendor for MIB info, but taking a while to get back to me.

I started doing my own since the OID walk produced very verbose results from teh boxes.., but IM having ZERO luck getting it into a workable format.

SHORETEL does support HPOPENVIEW with all the basic interface and system paramaters (load, cpu, temp), but also with call volume, calls per hour, calls dropped, etc....

anyone with info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm interested, as per my PM to you.

Where can I get the MIBs? I've sent an email to our supplier, but i'm still waiting on a reply.

In Australia we don't use the T1, we have an equivalent product called an E1.

We've got the following hardware:
-Shoregear E1
-Shoregear SG120 x2

I didnt get your PM, but, ive scrapped building my set because my shortel rep and I are working on getting their info they use.

The scripts I wrote were simply not working.

I would be interested in any information you get from ShoreTel. We have a fairly large installation with 4 sites, 2 separate ECCs, over a dozen T1s and about over a dozen 120/24 and 60/12s.

Thanks!

Keep us posted on what happens.

I'd really like to start graphing some info from our ShoreTel system.

I want to know more about this too

I have been using Cacti for a long time now and have monitored everything I can find to monitor. I had tried to see what the shoretel offered but to no avail. If you find anything out on this please let us all know.

I would be happy to get a MIB or some relevant OIDs that gave me some useful information even. If you can get me any useful OIDs I can put together something on it, even if my templating is not fully refined yet it is still usefull and easy to do.

And if I find out anything I will be sure to pass it on.

According to our Shoretel tech guy here in Australia (we only have one, but it's a start) Shoretel doesn't support monitoring of anything except for normal ethernet interface statistics via SNMP.

I think the way to go would be to write some sort of script that looks at the database on the Shoretel server and extracts the information periodically. I haven't had time to look into it any further though.

SHORETEL UPDATE

Post by pooch »

Dear all,

Sorry for the late post and not keeping up with things. Aside from being taken off several projects (including system monitoring), i had surgery that took me out of work for a bit.

anyway, SHORETEL UPDATE: about a month ago, i talked to my shoretel rep. he tried to talk to the engineers. No luck. I in turn talked to a shoretel engineer at a conference i was at and basically, he told me he would get me some info i needed (still waiting, but have talked to him since).

Now, I am VERY new to writing my own stuff, and infact, failed miserably writing the templates for shortel stuff the first time. So, please be patient as it will be a while (i jsut started working on this again).

Once i get them working, ill post them.

I know this has not been discussed for a while but I was wondering if anyone has found anything yet.

I have about a dozen installs that I monitor now with Cacti which would benefit from some shoretel specific info. I really wish I could get something from ShoreTel on this.

I was wondering if any of you had found anything useful here yet.

thanks,
EV
