Graphs not updating

Post by bplimpton »

Hello

We recently did an upgrade to 0.8.6h on a fedora core 4 box through yum. After the upgrade completed, all sorts of things went wrong. But the one causing me the most issues is that my graphs are not updating. I can get them to update by SUing to my cacti user, cacti, and running php cmd.php and then php poller.php in my cacti directory. Putting the entry in cron will not update the files.
I have run through the NaN troubleshooting guide here http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=15136 and get to step 3 where it says to check MySql updates. It does not look like mysql is getting updated with the polller results. It says that this condition is very rare , but what could be the possible causes of this? I have checked and rechecked the credentials in /etc/cacti/db.php and am using them when I run mysql from the command line. Everything works fine from the command line and I can insert the sql statement from my logs into the poller_output table but no worky from cron.

Please help!!

One common problem when using packet updates is a second crontab entry, Please scan /etc/crontab, /etc/cron.d/cacti and crontabs of users root and cactiuser.

That was it exactly. The entry in /etc/cron.d/cacti was commented out and was not running properly. I removed the cacti cron job from roots cron and uncommented it in this file and everything seems to be updating properly again. Thanks a ton.
