Right to use Cisco icons (e.g: for Weathermap)

Post by pepj2 »

Hello

I 've got the OK of Cisco to convert all the icons of http://www.cisco.com/web/about/ac50/ac47/2.html in ".png" format.
At the begin it was for weathermap but it could be interesting for other plugins.

If you download from here (format PNG, 280 icons at this time) or (other fomats) under http://www.cisco.com/web/about/ac50/ac47/2.htmll
you can use freely these icons.

PS: If you want do a package direct on your web site or in your software/plugin it is also possible and free but you have to do request for a "free minimum license agreement".

Thanks to

I've just spent a couple of hours with Photoshop doing the transparent backgrounds for all of these, too. I'll upload them in little while.

I'm waiting for a response from Cisco regarding the license before adding any to the weathermap zip, but as far as I can see, the transparent ones are really just a format conversion.

Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.

Great set. Thank you for your work.

I have a little problem when trying to use the icons. They don't look right when used by weather map (shown on picture). When I check them under windows they look OK but weather map loads them like this:

I am using CactiEZ installation and I have tried both - unzipping under windows uploading images to the server and uploading zip to the server and unzipping under CentOS.

The icons are 8-bit PNGs with Alpha, which might be a problem for GD. I'm just having a little experiement with ImageMagick to see if it's fixable.

In fact they were greyscale with alpha, which it seems GD doesn't like. I have converted them to 24bit with alpha now, and they are working fine for me.

Try these...
