Allow URLs to contain time-spans

Post by gturner »

Suppose you find some anomalous data in one of your graphs and you need to share it with some people, the way things work now you have to craft an email like "go to such and such host, such and such graph, and enter the time range 2006-09-26 17:20 to 2006-09-26 17:55". Most people I work with don't even bother.

It would be nice to copy the URL, or at least be able to construct one by hand, and pass it to your buddies like:

http://poller/cacti/graph_view.php?acti ... 26%2017:55

I'm no PHP programmer, but it looks like it's inc_timespan_settings.php that expects the date1/date2 parameters to be in $_SESSION or $_POST, but not $_GET.

Or a better example would be the ability to bookmark the URL containing a time-span.

This looks more like a bug. Can you please goto Mantis at bugs.cacti.net and open a bug report. I wrote this when my knowledge of $_POST, $_GET and $_SESSION was quite limited. Since then, of course, things have changed.

Thanks,

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
