I had the same problem. I had copied my post from MS Word and the Forum software got all confused with special characters like appostrophes (') and the like. I fixed all these and it posted fine.

SQL Error 1127 error collation etc

Post by IT-Services-SMA »

I had the same error and now I know from my collegue that we germans often use the false symbol for "I've" also me.

I used the symbol near the "?" on my german keyboard but this isn't the right one for "I've" - we german guys have to use the " ' " from the cap "shift" + "#".

Best regards,

Peter

For the last 2 days I've been getting this
SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHERE forum_id = 21' at line 3

UPDATE forums SET forum_posts = forum_posts + 1, forum_last_post_id = WHERE forum_id = 21

Line : 423
File : functions_post.php
If I copy the text, back out to the index and try again it works, not the end of the world just a PITA
