Hi,
I've had a scan through the forums and google already, but haven't found anything on what I'm looking for (yet).
While my search continues, don't mind me asking.
We have been using Cacti for a little while now, and have started allowing some associates to add their own devices to our monitoring box.
This has presented a large problem however...
We are the only recipients of any up/down e-mail alerts (theirs included).
Is there any way to add a 'per device' e-mail list that over-rides the default list under settings?
Or even some way to bind devices belonging to us to our user account(s), and theirs to their account?
If I've confused you with all that, the end result we want is:
User A's device goes down, User A get's notified.
User B's device goes down, User B get's notified.
Right now everything goes to everyone in the alert list, and we want to split that up.
The easiest method I can think of right now, is e-mailing all alerts to a server that will examine the ailing device(s) IP address, or e-mail event, and sending it off to the appropriate recipients from there. A bit of a backwards solution, but that I can impliment more easily than a Cacti patch.
I'm aware this could be a pretty tall order, but welcome all input or suggestions for this.
Thanks!
edit:
I hope I didn't put this in the wrong forum... but it seemed most fitting.

I assume you are using the Threshold plugin, as Cacti doesn't normally do up/down alert emails by itself.
Adding this option is definitely a possibility, never really occured to me before to allow hosts to be alerted on seperately. I can put it on my list, which is growing every day. I can probably get to it in a few weeks once my "sponsored" projects are completed.
