Reports plugin 0.1b

Post by andy »

Hi,

I'm trying to run the reports plugin but am having some issues (looks like a mysql prob).

I untarred the files to /plugins/reports and added the appropriate line to config.php and when the poller runs I get this error in the logs as well as no funtionality in cacti (no tab or settings for it).

CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Assoc Failed "select * from reports"

Is there something else I need to do to get this plugin going? I couldn't see any other docs that would suggest anything else is needed bar the standard plugin install. thold is working fine so I beleive the plugin arch is working.

Running the following versions.
cacti 0.8.6h
plugin arch 0.9
reports 0.1b
fedora core 4
mysql 4.1.20

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
andy

Import the tables for the database. The b after the version stands for beta, and thus it doesn't import its own tables yet (hint check reports.sql)

Well, I could have explained it a bit clearer. Import the reports.sql file into your cacti database, as it doesn't support having it own database. Actually as I have found with the haloe plugin, that trying to switch databases will cause PHP to Segfault, even in a simple test script using PHPs own functions to do the switching (but its been a few months so maybe its fixed).

Cheers mate, that seems to have fixed up the error but still no reports tab.

Sounds similar to http://forums.cacti.net/about15072.html.

I'll just leave it alone for a bit and it might come good

Thanks again.

There is no tab for Reports, there is a link on the Console under the Utilities heading. More than likely you will have to give your user access to it via the "User Administration" as the beta version doesn't give Admin access by default.

Works great! can't wait to see some new versions.

You might want to put a couple of lines down in the way of install instructions and add it to the package?

Anyways, thanks for the help!

Cheers,
andy.

Hi,

is there any expansion in the queue that allows adding many graphs from the "graph management" section to an report ? selecting, oull-down-menu->add to report-> report selection?

Not as of yet, but I will put it on the long list of things to be done to that plugin.

Hi,

I am sorry but my company has a good working spamfilter:
I have send a report with one graph and this email-report is classified as spam:
