I have this problem also. I am using RRDtool 1.2.8 and in settings I have selected RRDTool 1.2.x.
There are no entries in the cactii log.
I have snmpd running. Do I need any other processes to be running (other than the cron job to fire off poller.php) ?
If I go into Console -> Devices and select my host, the host screen comes up. But at the top it says
SNMP Information
SNMP error
How can I troubleshoot this?
Thanks
Carpii

Re: When enter to setting, and try to change that...
Log onto the web interface.
Look down the left hand side for Configuration then click Settings
On that screen there is a drop down list to tell cacti what version of RRDTool you use.
Ive had nothing but problems trying to set cacti up. Ive tried a few times over the past year and given up, but this time Im making a bit more progress (although Im having to manually fix php files myself
Some other things to try
go to linux shell and run cmd.php manually
/usr/bin/php /var/yourwebsite/cacti/cmd.php
See if that gives any errors. And then try
/usr/bin/php /var/yourwebsite/cacti/poller.php
Change the paths to suit your system, obviously :p

This will occur, if you're using older versions of cacti. Refer to http://cacti.net for current releasesiampuero wrote:i searchand try to do that :
