Hey,
I managed to add several hosts in cacti. And the graphics are showing nicely.
Afterwards i've made groups in the tree, and moved the hosts in the groups. So far so good. But when i click now on a host in the left, the right window stays empty. the only device that works good is the localhost under the group defaul.
So for me, the treeview doesn't work like it should be. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

I found a workaround for this
I had this same problem when using the cacti-0.8.6h-1 RPM version for Linux Fedora Core 3 (FC3). The problem happens when you browse to Console->Management->Devices and check the checkbox next to each host, then select "Place on a Tree" from the action menu, and click "go". If you use this approach, the Host will show up in the tree view, but no images will display next to it.
WORKAROUND:
Add your hosts one by one by using the Console->Graph Trees screen.
1) Select the tree you want to add the Host (and associated graphs) to.
2) In the "Tree Items" table (lower) there is an "Add" link at the top right. Click it.
3) Set "Tree Item Type" to "Host" and then select the desired Host from the drop-down menu that displays. Then press "Create".
Now, if you browse to Graphs->(Your Tree)->(Your Host) you should see your graphs show up on the right. You can repeat this process to systematically add all your hosts. Yes, it's tedious, but it works.
Enjoy,
Adrian

I'm just changing the title of this post, so that it's clear from the index that there is a woraround documented above.
