change filename of the rrd files

Post by molshoop »

Hello,

It would be nice if its possible to customize the .rrd filename before it gets created. I know its possible to do that afterwards per datasource but that will cost a lot of work for me. I can imagine that this would be a good setting to place on the data template.

Regards,

Martijn

yes, this would be useful...

in addition, would it also be better if there is an option such as a checkbox for "rename" beside the field "Data Source Path", we can simply change the filename in the datasource which saves us the hassle of modifying the filename in cacti, and also renaming the rrd file on the server...

I can tell you that this feature will not be available in the 0.8.6 version.

We are however looking at adding it to 0.9.0 version of Cacti. As for that release date, unknown.

There is a user contributed patch that will allow the customization of the path.
