Automatic login to Cacti Webpage on Windows

Post by gregnottage »

Hi,

This is a great site guys ;-)

Please can you tell me if it's possible to automate the login to the Cacti webpage when Cacti is running on Windows? I have it setup and running fine on Windows Server 2003.

I'm using it as a monitoring station, and I'd like to automate the login to Cacti and then go to a particular page once logged in.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can give.

Kind Regards,

Greg.

for monitoring you don't have to log you could hit directly on
http://your.cacti.host/cacti/graph_view.php
to see graph w/o authing

OK, I tried what you suggesting using this address:

http://localhost/plugins/thold/graph_thold.php

as I'm trying to get straight to the Threshold Monitoring plugin page.

All I get by doing this is the following error message:

You are not permitted to access this section of Cacti. If you feel that you need access to this particular section, please contact the Cacti administrator.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Thanks,

Greg.

Make sure you've enabled the threshold plugin. Post your question in that forum.

Also remember that when accesing directly to a cacti page like "graph_view.php" or "/plugins/thold/graph_thold.php" you're using the "guest" user credentials, so you need to give this user permisions to access the corresponding "realm".

In your case enter cacti as an admin, goto Console->Utilities->User Management, select the "guest" account and under Realm Permissions give him rights to "View Thresholds".

Good luck.

Aaah, the permissions of the Guest account were what was wrong here - thanks for that!

I changed the Realm Permissions as you describe and I'm now able to browse directly to the Threshold page without needing to login.

Thank-you so much for your help, it is hugely appreciated ;-)

I want to go directly to http://localhost/cacti/plugins/thold/thold_graph.php without getting this screen

"You are not permitted to access this section of Cacti. If you feel that you need access to this particular section, please contact the Cacti administrator."

Cheers.

jattard:
the guest account doesn't have view graph permissions for starters.... does it have permissions to the trees/realms/templates/etc?
