Thold and Cactid

Post by Maestro_Ba »

I'm running poller.php in these conditions:

SYSTEM STATS: Time:292.7496 Method:cmd.php Processes:10 Threads:N/A Hosts:1019 HostsPerProcess:102 DataSources:8758 RRDsProcessed:3904

I can't run all the processes in less than 5 minutes, so I'm willing to try cactid.

Will I have any problem with Thold if I change to cactid? Or this change won't interfere with Thold at all?

Thanks!

It doesn't interfere at all, since thold pulls directly from the rrd files themselves, instead of using the poller to poll again.

Well, tell me if i'm wrong, but you will have an issue with the dead host notification -> it won't work... :-?

Actually, I can't tell you because I'm not using that feature.

In the beginning, I wanted to use Thold to monitor Routers CPU and Memory.
However, I couldn't get it to work with "Occupied Memory" in percentage (I use some Cisco Memory and CPU Data Querys that someone made).

So I only use THold to monitor CPU occupation above 85. And with some few scripts I created that run on localmachine. But I don't use the email notifications.
