what if interface speed changed

Post by ehomo »

Hi!

i use cacti to monitor several interfaces on Catatlyst
when cacti create graphs of interfaces for the first time it take value of speed on interfece to define rrd_max value and DataSource Maximum Value, but interface speed may be changed

for example when i create graphs for the first time interface had speed 100Mbit, when i change speed to 1Gbit

rd_max value and DataSource Maximum Value stay constant until i cahenge it manually - its a really bad thing

so, how cacti automaticaly change this value?
may be need to run poller_reindex...?
i think it may be feature request

I have following cacti and plugins version
Cacti Version - 0.8.6h

Cacti will not update existing rrd files with new max/min values. You must do this manually. Also, since the interface speed is now 1Gbps, I'll probably want to switch to 64bit counters and snmpv2.

Is there a way to tell which data sources / graphs are already using 64 bit counters?

Updating the rrd file is one step, but would you also need to update the Data Template max value? Or does Cacti not use that field after the RRD file is created?
