Change 32bit counter to 64

Post by spdrmonkey »

Is there a way to change an existing graph from 32bit to 64? I know that it works on 64, I just don't want to lose my history, and hadn't hit the 32bit limit until recently. Thanks!

Yes, but it'll require a bit of work.

1) Have cacti create a new 64bit graph, which should also create a new data source and rrd file. Use rrdtool info newfile.rrd to find out the sizes for the data sources (DS).
2) Use rrdtool tune oldfile.rra on your existing rrd file, to increase the DS sizes to match the 64bit one.
3) Edit the 64bit data source in Cacti and point it to your oldfile.rra.
