Hello,
I would like to watch over my windows xp service pack 2 with Cacti.
When i add a device in cacti ,I specify the FQDN as my ip address.
I don't change public community which is the default name. The result is that i ave an snmp error.
In Windows xp I add the service snmp, I'm in workstationgroup,I'm in
public community like my cacti is.I open port 161 on my firewall, but when i try
to communicate with windows xp with this command line under my cacti:
snmpwalk -v 1 -c public 192.168.1.3
I don't have any response.
cheers and good bye
angel

Well until snmpwalk is able to return snmp data, neither will Cacti.
In the SNMP service, verify you have a community set and allowed IP addresses. What firewall are you using? Sounds like you possibly didn't allow SNMP. Check its logs to see if anything is being blocked.
