after upgrade from 0.68->0.8->0.82a, no graphs display

Post by some_bob »

After the upgrade, no graphs are being displayed. I just get the message "No Graphs Found". A debug statement I added to graph_view.php seems to indicate that the db SELECT statement that is populating the $graphs array is returning 0 items. I ran a manual select on graph_templates_graph and there are 63 rows of data, so it appears something is actually there.

I am not a master php'er (far from it), so I am not sure how to proceed. If my configuration is the problem (most likely), then any insight in how to resolve it would be appreciated.

The cmd.php script seems to be working fine and the rrd sources are being updated consistently.

This is a RH 7.2 box, Apache 1.3.22, php 4.1.

Let me know what else I can provide if needed.

Ok, problem #1 resolved, permissions needed to be reset after upgrade. I remember reading about this somewhere in the docs, so I should have known.

However, all of my old graphs are gone and my new graphs show nothing. The listings are all there, just no pretty pictures of graphs.

well, after reading through tons of posts, I ran across something regarding permissions on the rrd.log file.

Now, permissions were set to 755 (rwxr-xr-x), and owned by the cactiuser. Not really sure why this was not good enough, but as soon as I set the permissions to 777, the graphs all popped up.

So, while problem is resolved, I would be curious to know why I need to set permissions to 777. I just did a fresh install on a similar system today, and did not have this problem. Is this specific to an upgrade somehow?
