Perhaps cacti does not like the "Wrong type ..." stuff. Will ask a dev

Okay :).

It would love to stay using Cacti, but if I can't read things out of my switch then I need to use an other program :(.

Just read another thread that solved the problem using ./lib/snmp.php from svn. May you try this one (backing up the current snmp.php previously)

Not available anymore. I am having the same problem with a quite-up-to-date version of cacti (stock hardy).

tried this, my switch now responds to snmp v2c requests but doesnt make graphs (not even ones with no values)

Gave up on the Netgear, this combined with some functionality issues (2xRMA'd) I am going with Cisco as they have not let me down.

I got my Netgear GS716T and GS724AT switches working using SMNP v1 with Cacti Version 0.8.7e
