Problems generating rrd files.

I have a Cisco 3550 that refuses to be graphed. I'm am getting the XXXX.rrd file not found. I have a 2940 that was added and graphed with no problem. I have about 20 other hosts working and updating fine. Permissions are not the issue as I have made the rra/ directory world writable. I attempted to create the rrd files myself. Even when they are created they get nan values for the metrics. I can snmpwalk the host with out issues from the host running cacti. When I add the device to cacti it connects with no problems. When I add graphs all interfaces on the device including GBIC and routed VLANs show up. The host template is using the generic snmp enabled host. I have also tried switching up the counter types to 64bit as this device has some gig interfaces. SNMP and cacti are the current versions. This is running on a FreeBSD 6.1 Prerelease server. Any ideas?

Did you verify, that the files you've created manually got the permissions needed for the poller to be able to update them (run myself into that too often )
If this does not help, I'll need a snipped from your cacti.log in DEBUG mode related to that target

That's definitevly not a welcomed message. But does it relate to your target? Do you run a script server script against your Cisco device?
When editing your device, get the devices number from the id field of the url shown in your browser. Find your host denoted as Host[<id>] in the DEBUG log

I'm not sure, and I doubt it, I thought it may be important

Ive tried no scripts, with scripts, generic snmp enabled host, host templates for this series device from this site, all fail.

When editing your device, get the devices number from the id field of the url shown in your browser. Find your host denoted as Host[<id>] in the DEBUG log

None indicate any errors whatso ever.

After that I get the oids and the values associated with them. I didnt include them as their are allot.

So, Host[33] is the device in question? And you do get snmp values? So data gathering is working fine? You may want to check http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=15136 I've just created for more debugging hints, especially the rrd file specific ones. Please report your findings

Okay so I found something weird going on. When I kept adding and removing interfaces to be graphed I always did all interfaces on the whole device. So yesterday I decided to just graph a single vlan and leave it at that. I came into the office today and noticed the traffic over that vlan had been graphed. HOT!! It works, so I started adding graphs in groups of 3 interfaces. Its a 52 interface device so I thought It would take a while. I kept adding graphs and the data kept showing up. Problem solved I thought. I found that when I added interface 34,35,36 all of a sudden the graphs stopped. I didnt notice till an hour or so later. I thought this was odd. After some thought and a peek at the logs I decided to remove 1 graph. This did nothing. so I removed 2, with no result. I removed the 3rd and voila the graphs started again. I thought this was messed so I added another interface that hadnt been added before and the graphs stopped. I'm wondering if there is an upper limit on the ammounts of interfaces I can graph from one host? BTW, when the graphs stop, any new added dont get their rrd files created. Any thoughts on this?

This is really weird. Personally, I'm graphing several devices with more than 32 interfaces without problems. You may check latest cactid beta (not yet recommended for production usage) or pm TheWitness (author of cactid)
