about monitoring winxp

anyone know the template to monitor the disk usage, cpu,memory usage of winxp?

Hi

you can use the "Windows 2000/XP Host" host template. It will allow you to graph CPU, memory, filesystems, number of processes, logged in users and network usage.

Have you installed / configured / started the SNMP agent on you XP box ?

Is there a step by step instruction for this somewhere because I am having trouble with this. I have searched the forum and can't find anything.

Go to add/remove programs, add/remove Windows components, managing and analyzing tools and check SNMP.

Once installed, go to administrative tools, services, SNMP service, security tab. You need to add a community ("public" for example), and add the IP address of your Cacti server.

PS : I'm using a french localised Windows copy, so the names must not be 100% correct :wink:
