Discovery Issue

Post by saki »

I've installed this plugin as indicated in the readme file. It's no different than really any other plugin I've installed before. I gave myself the rights to view it in cacti. Yesterday I fooled around with it under the Misc tab trying to get it to start polling the devices. It never would. I had some more time this morning and found in another post on here to run the findhosts.php manually which I did and this is what I'm getting.

Error: could not start c:\cacti\plugins\discovery\findhosts.php -d -f

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

Check your permissions, and make sure you are telling php to execute the file, not the file itself.

Code: Select all

php -q c:\cacti\plugins\discovery\findhosts.php -d -f

That worked like a charm. I had the code wrong.

Thanks!
